Charting AI urbanism: conceptual sources and spatial implications of urban artificial intelligence

Abstract The aim of this paper is to tease out some the key issues concerning relationship between AI and urbanism. This relationship, which presented in academic literature as a new driving force contemporary urbanism, will be investigated through an interdisciplinary approach that places urban studies philosophy technology dialogue. Thus, analysis not focus on technological development artificial intelligence systems but how their application can affect urbanistic thinking vice versa. chart produced by method based two fundamental axes: time space. urbanism then inquired first turning points history city (modern cybernetics smart paradigm). Secondly, spatial implications from point view concrete applications (Robots, AVs, Software agents) impact relationships different actors. Ultimately, work aims offer conceptual tool for understanding decisive such connection quantitative qualitative approaches, related autonomous technology, economic-political background material AI, other intelligences. Understanding these valuable future research oriented toward transforming simple into sustainable innovations.
